Come see David Austin Roses in bloom in the midst of Cathleen's lovely garden of perennials, herbs and vegetables. We will host a plant swap first and then have our topic of discussion regarding next year's garden tour and our annual BBQ. August 4, 2011 @ 6:00 pm - Florence & John Maguire's garden at 38 W. Beech Ridge Road in Scarborough, ME August 20, 2011 @ 11:00- 4:00 - Relocated to Cheryl and Ron's home at 21 Marion Avenue, Biddeford. Bring your chair. September 1, 2011 @ 6:00 - Fall Preparation for Your Garden Ginny Moody, the owner and operator of Moody's Nursery and Garden Center in Saco, will discuss her recommendations of fall preparations for your garden. October 6, 2011 @ 6:00 - Harvest Potluck - Bring a garden inspired dish to share - Could be an appetizer, casserole, dessert or beverage. Also if you wish, bring wares for sale or ideas/samples for gift making or home use. The Charitable Program Committee will have items for members to vote on and we will finalize a date for next year's garden tour. November 3, 2011 @ 6:00 - How to force Tulip, Daffodil, and Hyacinth bulbs! Cathleen Fejedelem will demonstrate how to force bulbs inside. Ginny Moody donated 6” pots and SBGC purchased materials for participants to take home their own potted bulb! If there is time, we will also discuss the accomplishments of your garden this year or the problems you might need some input on. December 2011 - No meeting but will have our Holiday Party on Thursday, December 15th at the home of John and Suzanne Ropes. More information TBA. |
